There are a whole lot of different emotions that can arrise from listening to a particular song. In this hub I list five songs that inspire me. I think we all have at least one song that, well you know the feel good song that when we listen to, makes us feel like we can accomplish anything and nothing is stopping us. These are some of my favorite inspirational songs. Hope you enjoy them!
Inspirational songs
The Beatles- Let it be
When I listen to this song I get chills, it reminds me that I am never alone and that if I remain faithful everything will turn out fine. One of the Beatles best songs ever, I believe. Paul McCartney actually wrote it. Supposedly the idea came from a dream he had where his mother appeared and offered him guidance. I assume it brought tranquility in his life such as the song has brought tranquility to many who listen to it.
Lyrics
When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom let it be
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom let it be.
Fleetwood Mac- Don’t stop
Rumor has it this song was inspired by a romantic break up of two of its band members and was written by Christine Mc Vie as an inspiration for her moving on with her life. This song is a special one for me because not only does it lifts my spirits, but in it’s own little way, lets me know that tomorrow is a brand new day for a brand new start and there is always something pleasant to look forward to. It also reminds me of beautiful moments I shared with my children when they were younger, singing and dancing to this song in the middle of the living room.
Lyrics
If you wake up and don't want to smile
if it takes just a little while
open your eyes and look at the day
you’ll see things in a different way
Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow
don’t stop, it’ll soon be here
It'll be better than before
Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone.
Elton john- Still standing
One of Elton’s first mtv hit videos. This is one of those songs that make me glance at my past and be proud of whom I am today. It makes me feel heroic, well accomplished and reminds me that I am a true survivor. There are times where I could just hum this song all day; it is definitely one of my favorites.
Lyrics
Don’t you know I’m still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid
I’m still standing after all this time
Picking up the pieces of my life
Without you on my mind.
Earth Wind and Fire- Shining Star
A band from Chicago has been around since 1969 and won several music awards. I practically grew up listening to this song. When ever I listen to it I get a burst of energy. You can’t help but feel confident and optimistic about your life when listening to this song. At least that’s how it makes me feel.
Lyrics
When you wish upon a star, dreams will take you very far
When you wish upon a dream, life isn’t always what it seems
Once you see your light so clear in the sky so very dear
You’re a shining star, no matter who you are
Shining bright to see what you can truly be
That you can truly be.

Whitney Houston- I didn't know my own strength
Born in Newark, New Jersey at a young age she was active in the church choir. Released her first album in 1985, has won several grammy and has reach top chart status. Recently she has been known more for her struggles then for her accomplishment, still she doesn't cease to amaze her audience. This particular song is one of the many in her new I guess you can say come back album. a truly inspirational song and a gem of a message.
Lyrics
Found hope in my heart
I found the light to life my way out of the dark
Found all that I need here inside of me
I thought I’d never find my way
I thought I’d never lift that weight
I thought I would break
I didn’t know my own strength

love Elton John "still standing", great as it shows you are a survivor and woman who cares, what more to ask, Maita
These are very inspirational songs. Thanks for putting the videos there, I never saw that one of the Beatles. I wonder if that was the actual recording session? The setup seems as basic as I would do it but very effective. Nothing fancy, just the power in the songwriting and music. :)
All good! I'm a fanilow, and I love Elton!
Love all of them, Madison22 - and I agree - all of them have very inspiring lyrics.
Hi Madison, great songs. Have you heard The Canadian Tenor's version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah? Very powerful.
Certain songs move me and I can remember where I was when I heard a song for the first time. It's funny how things stick with you.
Let it be, is the best Madison, I was reading your profile and I am glad I have a link of this one, Maita

There is not too much about life that can affect a persons emotional state almost more than music. It soothes the soul, makes us dance, helps when we feel down, provides us memories. Great collection of mood music here Madison, nicely done.
We can only feel and know the meaning of the song if only we try to relate to that song. I'm pretty sure that each line of a song will probably gives a great impact to your life.
